About the Fabricademy
The Fabricademy is a transdisciplinary training program with a focus on new technologies in the textile industry and takes place in selected laboratories around the world. The program spans the arc from fashion to wearables.
In Germany, it is carried out in our matrix FabLab in Erkrath, among other places.
Our modules at a glance
The following topics will be offered as part of the four modules in the matrix FabLab in 2023:
- Open Source Circular Fashion (03.10.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX) This course gives an overview of the systems behind the fashion and textile industry and focuses on alternative systems such as circular fashion, agile fashion and open value chains. You will learn about modular elements, structures and connections that allow you to change the shape of a garment, its size or to replace certain elements.
- BioFabricating Materials (24.10.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX) This course explores the use of biological organisms and processes in textile production, such as B. bioactive materials, mycelium-based substances and bioprinting in focus.
3. Wearables (07.11.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX) Explore the integration of electronics and textiles, the incorporation of sensors, actuators and microcontrollers into garments and accessories in this course.
4. Soft Robotics (December 05.12.2023th, XNUMX) This course focuses on the development of soft robotics based on bio-inspired design or biomimetics. This method is used in the field of wearables or rehabilitation prosthetics.
