Funding program for innovation locations: Regional business development program of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia (RWP)
What is promoted?
In addition to the ERDF programs, there are other funding programs that you can access when realizing your place of innovation. As part of the funding from the RWP, you can convert an existing ITGZ accordingly and use e.g. B. Upgrade MakerSpaces, or create a new innovation hub or lab, also in close proximity to existing ITGZ. Here, prototypes can be developed in an innovative environment, demonstration systems can be used and co-creation can be promoted. In this way, you significantly upgrade your existing innovation ecosystem.
Who can apply for these grants?
The appeal is aimed at municipalities, associations of municipalities, legal and natural persons who are not geared towards making a profit and, under certain conditions, at providers of vocational training, universities and cooperations. Funding is only available in structurally weak regions of North Rhine-Westphalia GRW funding areas, possible.
There are two deadlines per year for submitting project outlines, June 01.06st. and the 01.12.

What should you consider when applying?
- Applications must be submitted to the competent authority before the start of the project District government, department 34 are provided.
- Deadlines are that 01.06 and 01.12 of every year.
- The application must be prepared before the start of the project.
- Funding is available for projects that have started within six months of notification of the grant and are completed within 36 months. Larger investments should be divided into several sections.
- The earmarking period for investment projects is 15 years after the physical completion of the funded project.
- For measures that are financed with GRW funds, the regulations of the coordination framework of the Joint task "Improvement of the regional economic structure" in the currently valid version.
- In the case of measures financed with ERDF funds, the regulations of the ERDF Framework Directive and the operational program ERDF NRW.
