Special prize for outstanding research commitment
The MakeOpaedics project team received the special award for outstanding research commitment on May 11.05.2022, XNUMX. This was awarded by the Entrepreneurship Düsseldorf and surroundings eV as part of the Rhenish Innovation Award. During the award ceremony, Professor Stephan Martin emphasized the importance of the project team's development for people with diabetes and a Charcot foot: it reduces their risk of amputation.
Together with the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences has matrix gGmbH using the expertise of Vital Center HODEY KG developed a prototype. The prototype is a sensor-based sole system for patients with a Charcot foot. The aim of the sole system is to avoid pressure points on the foot by permanently monitoring the pressure and temperature and thus prevent the formation of wounds.
MakeOpaedics creates co-creative network
MakeOpaedics brings makers and medical supply stores together in the development process. This results in digitally manufactured open source prototypes that are freely available for further development. In this sense creates MakeOpaedics a co-creative network of innovative actors with different competences and perspectives.
