KG Recommendations for action on the subject of academic success and - Dropout in teacher training courses in North Rhine-Westphalia. In this context and as a basis for the recommendations, the study on teacher training in North Rhine-Westphalia is being developed.
What is the teacher training dialogue about?
The forecasts show that the need for new teachers at schools in North Rhine-Westphalia will continue to increase. In addition to expanding the number of places on offer, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia is therefore also looking at the central factors for academic success in teacher training courses. What measures can be identified that will help to strengthen trainee teachers and reduce the drop-out rate?
The goal of the teacher training dialogue
There are different perspectives, ideas and approaches to explaining this topic. Bringing these together in one place and illuminating them from different perspectives is the basic idea of the Dialog Panel Dialogue teacher training. With the aim of generating deeper knowledge of the multi-causal topic and finding out which causes, obstacles and problems are decisive for doubts and dropouts. At the same time, the purpose is to discuss what useful ways there are to bring about change. In particular: What levers can the state government as a whole and the NRW Ministry of Culture and Science move together with the universities? And also: which ones do not? The participation platform should enable all actors who are directly or indirectly involved in teacher training to have their say, be heard and thus participate in the change process.

About the project
