matrix at the Fashion Match Düsseldorf
Also this year from January 26th to 28th, 2020 participants from different areas of the fashion industry (design, development, production, trade) exchanged ideas at the "Fashion Match Düsseldorf " .
Three days full of presentations and networking, as well as presenting innovations in fashion design, materials and textiles: this is where the trends for winter 2020/2021 were defined. The event also offered workshops and panel discussions, parallel to the Düsseldorf fashion fair 'Collection Première Düsseldorf' (abbreviated: CPD).
Start-ups and designers from North Rhine-Westphalia as well as international specialists from Belgium, Nepal, Tunisia, France and many other countries presented textile and fashion innovations and stimulated discussions about the future of the industry. An important topic this year was Sustainability and the associated new design methods in the textile industry.
With three other fashion fairs as part of the CPD (the Gallery, the Supreme Fashion Show and the DATE), how well it is networked through design and fashion studios. Due to the large number of designers * who live the new expressions of fashion, the fashion city of Düsseldorf should develop into the innovative center of German fashion.
Also for that matrix innovation team New methods for material processing and production are an important aspect in digital product management, which Adriana Cabrera, product designer and senior consultant, took up in her lecture "Soft Robotics: A New Expression of Fashion Tech".
She presented the possibilities of integrating Wearables in body systems and explains that the innovative area of soft robotics can now also be used in fashion tech. By using pneumatic or fluidic control factors, this concept can create a new functionality and aesthetic that emerges from a bio-inspired design.

Digital Pototyping Workshop | Soft technologies (wearables & soft robotics)
