The internship conclusion: All good things come in three (months)
Ceyda's internship comes to an end this month: She tells us in the blog what she has learned in the past three months and what she is taking with her. And above all, it answers the question: will you continue in the matrix?
Today something happened that I would never have dared to dream: I woke up BEFORE my alarm clock went off. Admittedly only five minutes earlier, but still. So I'm slowly becoming a morning person - just before my internship ends - great. Getting up early is of course not the only thing I've learned in the last three months.
First Impressions
When I started full-time working a quarter of a year ago, I didn't know and couldn't do much. I had a hard time mine Wishes and expectations to formulate the internship because I have not yet had an insight into working life in this area. I knew the theoretical part from my studies, but as I have learned, practice and theory are often very far apart.
Thanks to the helpfulness of my work colleagues, I quickly found my way around and collect first impressions can.
I was able to attend many meetings and even had one or two external appointments. It is very exciting to get to know the processes within a company, but also how companies interact with external parties.
Work independently instead of making coffee
Then, halfway through the time, I did a task in which I could decide quite freely how I wanted to design it. At first I underestimated the workload, but was brought back down to earth quickly enough. I did a lot of research, wrote texts and was even able to make appointments with external contacts on my own.
Something I really appreciate about the matrix is that I was seen as a full team member from the start and that my opinion was always taken seriously. Not once did I have the feeling of “just” being an intern and I enjoyed working with each other, but also the conversations during breaks.
Auf Wiedersehen
Overall, I am very satisfied with my internship. I've experienced a lot, for example I've sat in every office here. In addition, I've almost finished my job and will be able to continue as a working student from December. I learned how to write texts and look at products from different perspectives. Just getting to know and use Instagram as a marketing tool was a very interesting insight for me. I couldn't even imagine beforehand how much work there is behind a marketing concept and how many steps are taken to get it published.
The work showed me how I can apply what I had learned in my studies in the world of work and where the journey could lead me. I am now more certain in which area I will see myself later and I am very excited to see how things will continue in December.
