New colleagues with expertise in the field of study doubts and communication advice

The matrix communication team has had two new employees since the beginning of the year: Jessica Büntig and Farina Grimm have joined the Next Career project team because of their specialist expertise in the areas of academic doubts, communication advice and project assistance. They also want to focus more on crowdfunding.

Jessica Buntig

The 25-year-old Jessica Büntig is a media manager and has been working as a consultant at matrix since the beginning of the year. Because of her experience in campaign work and project management, she is mainly involved in the Next Career project. There she is involved in advising universities that are devoted to various projects on the subjects of study doubts, changing studies and dropping out. “What particularly appeals to me is the tension between the taboo subject of academic doubts and the communicative possibilities of the digital age. Thanks to modern media, people can quickly and easily share their concerns - and if they want, they can even remain completely anonymous. This is a great advantage, but also a challenge for communication consulting, ”she says. Since she planned and implemented events for AIDS education together with professors and students as well as the student council during her studies, she knows the structures of universities and can confidently exchange ideas with all relevant stakeholders.

In the future, Jessica wants to deal more with the topic of crown funding. “Matrix has already gained experience with this type of financing for social projects. Now we also want to implement industrial projects with crowdfunding, ”she describes the vision.

Customer orientation and programming of websites

Farina Grimm

Farina Grimm is also working on the Next Career project. She also started at matrix at the beginning of the year and is studying part-time. “In between, I had doubts about my studies because I wasn't admitted to my preferred subject, media studies, and I'm studying German and information science as a second choice,” she says. In the meantime, however, she has overcome her doubts and is working towards the bachelor thesis. Above all, she takes care of the social media work and user-generated content in the project. Topics that fascinate her because she herself has experience as a Youtuber. In addition, she has a high level of customer orientation, which she acquired during her work at Kulturfabrik Krefeld eV, among other things. In addition, she takes on simple programming on websites, so communication with project partners can be designed even better.

The fact that both Jessica and Farina have already had experience with university doubts, university work and user-generated content is an enormous advantage for matrix. True to the motto "With and not about the target group" The two employees can fall back on practical experience when talking to and advising customers - and they are not only on a theoretical level.
