matrix supports holiday project in Oelde
More than 80 children presented themselves as actors at the Oelder Street Theater Festival under the motto “Animal was going on”. matrix supported this project.
During the Whitsun holidays in Oelde, there was a lot going on - under this motto, over 86 children between five and twelve years of age rehearsed small pieces and presented them at the city's big summer street theater festival. The children had five days to prepare for their performance last Saturday in the streets of Oelde. They were guided by Hendrick Becker. He is a theater educator, director and actor. Becker comes from Stromberg, an Oelder district.
"Most of the children had never played theater," says Becker. "But they approached the matter very openly and curiously - and the stories and actions that arose were fantastic." And so, after intensive preparation, 5 large and 21 small groups populated the city center and mixed with the professional street artists, who were also guests in Oelde during the festival.
matrix made it possible for children to participate in the project
In advance, the organizers had limited the number of participants to 60. But the interest was so great that sponsors were looked for at short notice to enable more children to experience this. "It goes without saying that the matrix should get involved here," says Magdalena Hein, who lives and works in Oelde herself. “In our projects, we always try to involve children and young people, give them opportunities and open up new perspectives. We don't just want to recommend this to our customers, we want to set an example ourselves. ”And thanks to the donation, more children were able to take part in the project.
