matrix remains zdi regional office
In a Europe-wide invitation to tender, the matrix team has again won the contract as the regional office for the “Future through Innovation” initiative. With new approaches to communication work and network management, the team around Dr. Klaus Bömken the NRW Ministry of Science, which is the client of the project.
A goal of the state government is to inspire young people for MINT - mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology - and to counteract a shortage of skilled workers. To achieve this, the zdi initiative was founded in 2004. From the beginning, matrix was part of the office, which takes on the development and expansion of regional MINT networks as well as communication work and support for funding programs.
Young people should help shape the MINT initiative
"In the past twelve years, zdi has grown into the largest and most important MINT initiative in Germany," says project manager Bömken. In addition to regional networks, numerous school laboratories and, above all, consistent quality assurance make the overall project unique and successful. “Now we want to go one step further: We will include the target group, i.e. the young people, in the conceptual development. In this way we learn even better what young people want from STEM courses or completely different formats - and how we can best arouse their interest in these topics. "
To this end, the communication work in the social media area is being expanded: A zdi YouTube channel with self-made films and films made by partners For courses and events or knowledge clips, the target group of schoolchildren should be involved in an age-appropriate manner.
